Media stakeholders in Rivers State on Thursday, bade farewell to Jossy Nkwocha, Head, Corporate Communication Department, and Special Adviser to the Managing director, Indorama Eleme Petrochemical Company Limited (IEPCL).
Nkwocha is retiring from the foremost petrochemical and fertilizer company after 18 glorious years of managing the company’s corporate image.
At a special programme tagged: “Happy hour” that brought together journalists in the state to the corporate headquarters of the company, Nkwocha expressed appreciation to all journalists in Rivers State for supporting him to have a fulfilling and successful working life in the company for 18 years.
He recalled that on taking up appointment at the company after departing from the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) 18 years ago, he had visited the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) office and that of the Correspondents’ Chapel in Port Harcourt, to solicit for media support to enable him succeed in his new assignment.

Nkwocha pleaded with the journalists to extend the same goodwill and support to Mr. Justice Bibiye, who will assume headship of the corporate communication department in his stead.
Journalists took turns to applaud the working relationship created by Nkwocha with the media, while working in Indorama and wished him well in his future endeavours.
The journalists also commended the management of Indorama for reviving the company after privatization and making it the most successful of all the enterprises that were privatized by the federal government in recent years.
Speaking, Mr Deepu Sivadas, Chief Technical Officer of the company who represented the Managing Director/ Chief Eexecutive Officer, Munish Mundra, acknowledged the feat that have been achieved by the company over the years.
He also expressed appreciation to the media for supporting the company, attributing the gesture to the wonderful goodwill of Nkwocha.
He praised Nkwocha for manning the corporate communication department very effectively, stressing that the public relations guru has left very big shoes for his successor to fill.
In his brief remarks, the incoming Head of the Corporate Communication Department, Mr. Justice Bibiye described the event as a reunion with journalists in the state having practised in the state as a staff of the African Independent Television, (AIT) for 10 years before proceeding on transfer to cover the State House, Abuja.
While thanking the journalists for supporting Indorama through Nkwocha, he also craved for the same gesture to be extended to him as he mounts the saddle.
