The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has called for the submission of research papers, ahead the 18th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV 2025).
The global event will be held in Abuja, from November 4- 7, 2025, and aims to gather thought leaders, practitioners, and researchers from around the world to explore the intersections of governance and technology.
Under the coordination of the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), the conference serves as a premier platform where academic research converges with practical policy-making, innovative solutions drive effective governance, and global collaboration redefines the future of digital transformation.
NITDA invites original research contributions, insightful policy analyses, and comprehensive case studies across 12 thematic tracks.
These are in the area of building trust through inclusive and ethical digital governance, strategies to foster public trust in digital governance frameworks, securing digital governance (privacy, cyber security, and digital sovereignty), best practices for protecting citizens’ data and maintaining national security,
harnessing AI for public good (balancing innovation and responsibility), ethical considerations and frameworks for integrating AI technologies in public services.
Others include digital public infrastructure for scalable and inclusive digital service delivery (innovations and investments needed to build resilient digital infrastructure), smart, sustainable, and resilient communities, cities, and regions (sustainable urban planning and management through digital solutions), governing digital economies, and public-private sector perspectives (collaboration strategies between public and private sectors in navigating digital economies).
The conference brings significant opportunities for attendees as “participants will have the unique chance to connect with leading researchers, government officials, business innovators, and policymakers at the forefront of governance, technology, and social impact.

The agency revealed that the deadline for paper submission is May 10, 2025, decision notification is slated for July 29, 2025, while the conference date is November 4-7, 2025.
“The ICEGOV 2025 is more than just a conference; it is a transformative opportunity to engage actively in shaping the future of digital governance, fostering collaboration, and inspiring collective action for global progress,” it added.
