The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thick dust haze with visibility of 1 km or less in the northern and central regions of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, moderate dust haze is anticipated in the southern region on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
According to an advisory shared with our correspondent, Lagos and other coastal areas are expected to experience sunny weather along with thunderstorms and light rain.
On Monday, January 12, the northern region is predicted to see moderate haze with visibility ranging from 2 to 5 km, while the central region will face thick dust with visibility of 1 km or less.

The hinterlands can expect moderate dust, while sunny conditions are anticipated in coastal areas.

The advisory also recommends that individuals with asthma or other respiratory issues exercise caution regarding the current weather conditions.
Additionally, airline operators are urged to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet for effective flight planning.
