The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, has received top honours at the Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards 2025, an event organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) under the Presidency.
NiMet emerged as the Best Federal MDA in Open Data Excellence, a recognition that highlights the agency’s outstanding contributions to data transparency, innovation, and digital transformation in public service. Prof. Anosike was also decorated with the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award for his visionary leadership in promoting digital governance and advancing technology-driven reforms in alignment with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.
The dual recognition cements NiMet’s position as one of Nigeria’s most forward-thinking public institutions and underscores Prof. Anosike’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s climate intelligence systems.
