Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Kebbi State to meet with government officials and the families of the schoolgirls kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School in Maga.
His plane landed at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi, where he was accompanied by Zubaida Umar, the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, along with other senior government officials.
Following President Bola Tinubu’s instructions, Shettima is set to convey the President’s message to the affected families and receive a comprehensive security briefing to report back to the presidency.
The tragic attack on the school resulted in the death of Vice Principal Malam Hassan Makuku, who was reportedly killed while trying to prevent the bandits from abducting the girls.

Police officials have confirmed that a joint tactical squad has been deployed to the nearby forests to locate the kidnappers and rescue the students.
President Tinubu has previously condemned the incident and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
He has also postponed his planned trips to South Africa and Angola for the G20 Summit and AU-EU Summit to concentrate on addressing the crisis.
