The immediate past national President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Bobbio Kaigama, has said the present economic predicaments in the country, will no doubt prevent Nigerians from voting for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.

Making the assertion today at a media parley organised by the Taraba state chapter of the Correspondent chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the former trade union boss who is the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) senatorial candidate for Taraba Central, said Nigerians will end up rejecting both the APC and PDP.

Citing the alleged sixteen years of misrule of the PDP and the present economic hardship under the ruling APC, dreams of any of the aforementioned parties producing the next President of the country, he believed would turn out to be a mirage.

The ongoing cash crisis necessitated by the redesigned currency notes, fuel scarcity, insecurity, among others, as noticed by our correspondent, are the numerous reasons he believed would compel Nigerian voters to distance themselves from the aforementioned political parties.

Kaigama noted that the ongoing financial crisis in the country will negatively affect the APC in the polls and affirmed that “with their structures, Nigerians will reject both APC and PDP in this coming general elections.”

Emphasising that “Nigerians are wise now” he is optimistic that the next Assembly” is not going to be business as usual” adding that “it is not going to be the right of a political party to occupy the National Assembly.”

Kaigama who was reacting to the allegations that the NNPP presidential candidate has not put in place adequate structures to warrant the party make headway in the coming polls, dismissed the notion, stating that “Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is the best presidential candidate in the country.”

The inability of the APC and the PDP to take Nigerians out of the dungeon of slavery to the promised land is enough for the NNPP to form the next government at the federal level.

He was also observed to have decried the massive absence of federal and state governments presence in Taraba Central geopolitical zone, the situation which he believed was necessitated by “lack of strong representations.”

The situation which in his view has made it impossible for the zone to be connected to the national grid, he said has as well frustrated its dreams of seeing the Mambilla Hydro Power Project coming to reality.

Rather than going ahead to privatise Mambila Beverages, the state government should tread extra legitimate miles in making public the profits so far made by the company.
