Nigerian youth have raised concerns regarding the inaccessibility of the recruitment website that was officially launched on Monday, July 14, 2025, by the federal Ministry of Interior.

It will be recalled that President Bola Tinubu has authorized the recruitment of 30,150 personnel across four major paramilitary agencies to bolster internal security and improve national service delivery.

This approval was communicated in an official letter dated June 3, 2025, from the Office of the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.

The letter, signed by CDCFIB Secretary Major General AM Jibril (Rtd), confirms the President’s directive for extensive recruitment across four key security agencies and their respective board secretariats.

The recruitment plan includes enlisting 10,000 personnel into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and another 10,000 into the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

However, many young Nigerians took to social media to express their frustration over what they perceive as the federal government’s lack of seriousness in providing a reliable system, especially in this digital age.

Joseph Oluwole shared his dissatisfaction on Facebook, stating, “I’ve been trying to print out my application since yesterday, but the network keeps failing.

The printout I managed to get is incomplete, just half a page, and now I can’t reprint it due to network issues.”

They reported that in the days following the official launch of the site, the website’s network completely crashed.

Other youths expressed skepticism about the current recruitment process, recalling previous instances where the government facilitated online applications but later disregarded them due to personal interests and corruption.

“Suffering for something that will only lead to a screening call, and that’s it,” Sogijis Yelmi commented on Facebook.
