The Nigerian Navy has uncovered and destroyed several dugout pits and sacks filled with suspected stolen crude oil at Obodo-Omadino Creek in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to a statement posted on the Navy’s official Facebook page on Thursday, October 16, the illegal oil site was discovered during a surveillance-led operation conducted by the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) DELTA on Wednesday, October 15. The operation was based on credible intelligence reports about illegal oil refining activities in the area.
The Trumpet Newspaper gathered that a wooden boat and a pumping machine used for the illegal operation were also found at the scene, located around Latitude 5.558328°N and Longitude 5.616693°E.

The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to curbing crude oil theft and protecting Nigeria’s maritime environment from economic sabotage. It also warned those involved in illegal oil refining and bunkering to desist or face the full weight of the law.
This operation marks another success in the Navy’s ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft and restore sanity to the Niger Delta waterways.
