Nigeria’s entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the shocking death of celebrated DJ Sarah Oboh, popularly known as DJ Dope Caesar, who passed away in the early hours of Monday, August 11, 2025.
Dope Caesar’s untimely death comes just days after she stole the spotlight at ART X Live!, the electrifying music showcase of the prestigious ART X Lagos art fair. This year’s edition, themed “The Dialogue,” brought together creatives from across the globe for a celebration of cultural exchange, artistic storytelling, and groundbreaking performances.
The festival’s closing night was nothing short of magical, with Dope Caesar delivering a high-energy set that fused R&B, Afropop, and other genres, leaving the audience in awe.
