Nigerian chef Hilda Baci is aiming to set a new record by cooking the largest pot of Jollof rice ever! She announced this exciting event on her Instagram on Friday, revealing that it will take place on September 12, 2025, in partnership with the seasoning brand Gino.
Hilda plans to use a massive pot that is six meters wide and six meters tall for this incredible cooking challenge.
She expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “Almost two years ago, I dreamed of making the biggest pot of jollof rice ever.
“Now, with Gino and all of you, that dream is coming true. Together, we will make history on September 12! What’s jollof without friends to share it with?”

In a video, Hilda, who gained fame after her remarkable 2023 cooking marathon, shared that this cooking event is about more than just the food.
“Some dreams keep us awake until we achieve them,” she said. “In 2023, my Cook-a-thon wowed the world, and now it’s time for jollof, the heart of West African cuisine. This is more than cooking; it’s about celebrating our food, culture, music, and community.”
Hilda made headlines in May 2023 when she completed a 100-hour cooking marathon in Lagos, which earned her recognition from Guinness World Records.
