The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially announced the commencement of its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Enlistment for Course 34/2025, calling on qualified Nigerian graduates and postgraduates across various professions to apply.

According to the statement released by NAF, the online application process is completely free of charge and will run from Wednesday, August 27, 2025, to Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Interested candidates are to submit applications via the official portal at www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.

Applicants are required to print out an acknowledgment slip, a Parent/Guardian Consent Form, and a Local Government Area Attestation Form, which must be endorsed by an authorized officer such as a senior military or police officer, a local government chairman or secretary, or a magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.

The eligibility criteria stipulate that applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, between 20 and 32 years of age, and medically, physically, and psychologically fit. However, medical doctors and consultants may apply up to the age of 40. Male applicants must not be shorter than 1.66m, while females must not be less than 1.63m. Applicants with prior criminal convictions are automatically disqualified.

In terms of academic qualifications, applicants must hold a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division for first-degree holders or Upper Credit for HND holders. Possession of professional certificates and registration with relevant bodies will serve as added advantages. In addition, applicants must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and possess either a discharge certificate or a letter of exemption.

Medical professionals applying are expected to present valid registration certificates from their statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.

The Air Force also disclosed that successful applicants will be invited for a Zonal General Aptitude Test, after which shortlisted candidates will proceed to a Selection Interview. Dates for the aptitude test will be communicated through the recruitment portal.

The NAF reiterated that the exercise is not open to serving personnel above the age of 32 who are seeking branch commissions, except those with at least 10 years of service and the rank of corporal or above, duly recommended by their commanding officer.

This recruitment drive is expected to draw massive interest from young Nigerians eager to serve their country, as the Nigerian Air Force remains one of the nation’s most respected arms of the military.
