The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu, President of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, describing his passing as a huge loss to Nigeria’s sporting community.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of the NVBF President, Musa Nimrod, the board, and the entire Nigerian volleyball family, the federation said it received the news of Dunkwu’s death with shock and profound sadness.
The federation noted that Dunkwu was a distinguished sports administrator whose passion, dedication, and leadership played a significant role in the growth and promotion of aquatic sports in Nigeria.
According to the statement, his commitment to sports administration and athlete development left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire the Nigerian sports community.
“Dr. Dunkwu was a passionate leader whose contributions to the development of aquatic sports in Nigeria were remarkable. His dedication to the advancement of athletes and sports administration will remain an enduring legacy,” the statement said.

The NVBF extended its heartfelt condolences to the leadership, members, athletes, and staff of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, as well as the immediate and extended family of the late sports administrator.
The federation prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and asked God to grant his family, colleagues, and the entire Nigerian sports community the strength to bear the loss.
The condolence message was signed by Godspower Odedede, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.
