The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, said the Super Eagles will dislodge the Black Stars of Ghana in the second leg encounter of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World playoff at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Pinnick who said this after the first leg clash at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi praised the performance of the Nigeria senior men’s team against Ghana.
The sports administrator and a member of FIFA council, opined that the Super Eagles had all the opportunities to win the first leg tie despite it ending in draw The Trumpet gathered.
He, however, acknowledged that both teams played well but vowed that the March 29 second leg clash in Abuja will be an unstoppable route for the Super Eagles to the FIFA World Cup finals.
Amaju said: “I think Ghana managed to have a draw, not Nigeria. And I think we had a good chance of winning the game even though we drew, both sides played very well. I really thought that we could have won the game.
“I know we should and will win convincingly at home. Our team is better but we were unfortunate today,” he added.
Ghana is expected to arrive in the country today, Monday, to battle with the Super Eagles for the qualifying ticket to the Qatar world football event.
