The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has emphasised the necessity to create regional and non-kinetic measures to keep up with the rapidly changing global security challenges.
Gen. Musa, represented by the Director of Intelligence and Security, Defence Headquarters, Brig. Gen. Yusuf Ali, gave the advice at the opening of the workshop on guidelines and manual on counter-terrorism and crime prevention in Abuja.
The workshop the defence added, will focus on a training manual and the practical guide for establishing crisis mitigation centres and anti-terrorism bases.
He said that the project is historic as it that personifies creativity, resiliency, and collaboration in the shared goal of ensuring the nation’s security and stability.
“As we launch this initiative, I urge us to reflect on our roles in nurturing a people-centric security network. Let us build a force that protects, listens, engages and empowers.

“Let us embrace innovative tools like open-source intelligence to stay ahead of evolving threats; let us put our people at the centre of everything we do, for they are our most incredible resource and enduring strength.
“Together, we can transform security from a challenge into an opportunity for growth, stability and national unity. Together, we can operationalise this vision of collaborative, resilient and professional security forces to achieve our constitutional responsibilities.
“Let this centre become a beacon of hope, a testament to what is possible when we unite in purpose, resolve and action,” he said.
