The South-South zone of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) has disclosed that this year’s Nigeria Senior Open Karate Championship will be majorly sponsored by Stratabase Group.
The Chairman of the South-South zone, Dr. Chukwudi Dimpka stated that athletes and officials numbering about 300 will converge in Portharcourt for the event.
In a statement issued by Stephen Deegbara of the media department of South-South (KFN), the four-day event slated to take place in the Garden City will commence on February 17 and end on February 20.
According to Chairman South-South (KFN), the resolution to organise the event tagged “Karate Championship 2022” was reached in the first KFN board meeting for the year in Abuja.

Dimkpa advised the karate athletes to put in their best because they would compete with the best karatekas nationwide in the tournament.
He said: “You are going to be looking out to showcase yourself and your talent, you are going to be up against the best in the country.”
The South-South Chairman (KFN) urged the karatekas to display the best of skills in the event to confirm that they are qualified to practice karate.
“So hopefully, you will have framed up your skills and come showcase to us that you qualify as a Karateka.”
Moreover, he listed other corporate bodies and limited liability companies that have indicated interest to sponsor the event aside from Stratabase Group.
Dimkpa said, “Corporate entities such as Vandrezzer Energy Services, Solotone Global Services, and Allied Victory, all limited liability companies, have secured bookings for sponsorship participation in the championship.”
The event is expected to showcase promising talents in Nigeria.
