The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the rollout of its Contactless Passport Application System in the United Kingdom, following its successful launch in Canada on November 5, 2024. This new phase, set to commence on February 7, 2025, marks a significant step in the agency’s commitment to providing seamless passport renewal services to Nigerians in the diaspora.
Under the leadership of Comptroller General KN Nandap, the NIS has introduced NIS Mobile, a digital platform available on Google Play Store, allowing Nigerians to renew their passports without visiting a physical passport center for biometric enrollment. This innovative solution is expected to eliminate delays, reduce stress, and enhance efficiency in passport processing for Nigerians abroad.
