The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the tragic attack that occurred on December 20 in Magdeburg, Germany, where a truck drove into a crowded Christmas market.
This horrific incident resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including a nine-year-old boy and left over 200 others injured.
Acting spokesperson of the ministry, Kimiebi Ebienfa, expressed the federal government’s shock and sadness, conveying sincere condolences to the German Government and its people.
The statement emphasized the condemnable nature of the attack and extended thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

“The Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to express her sincere condolences to the government and people of Germany following a car attack on a crowded Christmas market on December 20, 2024 in Magdeburg, Germany.
“The unfortunate incident, which led to the death of five persons and over 200 injured is highly condemnable. Our thoughts are with the government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the families of all those impacted by the dreadful action,” the ministry said.
The suspect, identified as Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen, a 50-year-old Saudi psychiatrist had previously made alarming statements on social media, prompting an investigation by German officials into the failure to adequately address warnings regarding his threats.
