Amidst rumour of his arrest over alleged coup plot, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, on Thursday urged Niger Delta people to focus on agriculture other than oil, stressing that agriculture remains the most viable path to achieving food security, job creation, and sustainable regional development.
Ogbuku spoke in Port Harcourt while addressing agricultural stakeholders as part of a two-day strategic meeting preparatory to the forthcoming Niger Delta Agricultural Summit.
The event attracted Commissioners for Agriculture and Permanent Secretaries from all nine Niger Delta states, as well as representatives from key agricultural agencies and private sector partners.

With the public appearance of Ogbuku who was alleged to be in custody of security agencies for financing the rumored coup plot, the need for fact-checking information before dissemination has become more critical.
