The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has unveiled the 21-man Super Eagles squad that will feature against Russia in an international friendly on June 6.
Despite concerns regarding a match with Russia, which is currently under FIFA sanctions, the NFF has agreed to the encounter planned for the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Friday, June 6.
In contrast to the previously selected 23-man roster for the Unity Cup in London, head coach Eric Chelle has opted for a completely new 21-man team for the trip to Moscow.
Key players in the roster include captain William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, and Bright Osayi-Samuel in defense.
The midfield is led by Wilfred Ndidi and Raphael Onyedika, with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Chrisantus Uche also receiving selections.
In the striking positions are Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze, and Valencia’s Sadiq Umar are set to spearhead the attack, with additional support from other forwards like Kelechi Iheanacho, Nathan Tella, and Simon Moses.

The announced squad includes, Maduka Okoye (Udinese, Italy), Amas Obasogie (Singida Black Stars, Tanzania).
Defense: William Troost-Ekong (Al-Kholood, Saudi Arabia), Olaoluwa Aina (Nottingham Forest, England), Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce, Turkey), Bruno Onyemaechi (Olympiacos, Greece), Semi Ajayi (West Brom, England) and Igoh Ogbu (Slavia Prague, Czech Republic).
The midfield consists of: Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England), Frank Onyeka (Augsburg, Germany), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge, Belgium), Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (Lazio, Italy), Chrisantus Uche (Getafe, Spain) and Papa Daniel Mustapha (Niger Tornadoes).
Forwards: Victor Boniface (Bayer Leverkusen, Germany), Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan, Italy), Kelechi Iheanacho (Middlesbrough, England), Moses Simon (Nantes, France), Nathan Tella (Bayer Leverkusen, Germany), Tolu Arokodare (Genk, Belgium) and Sadiq Umar (Valencia, Spain).
The friendly match against Russia is an ongoing effort by Nigeria to gear up for the 2025 AFCON and the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
