The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied claims that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is thinking about ending his contract with the Super Eagles.
The NFF made the clarification, following media reports that the uncertainty about Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup could influence Chelle’s decision to leave his job.
However, Ademola Olajire, the Head of Communication for the NFF, said that the report was just an April Fool’s joke.

Olajire explained “this is an April Fool’s prank by Osasu Obayiuwana,” effectively ending the rumours about Chelle’s job.
The NFF’s quick response has reassured fans that Chelle will remain as head coach, focusing on helping Nigeria qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
