Troops from ‘Operation UDO KA’ have rescued five victims during a kidnapping incident along the 9th Mile area in Enugu, Enugu State
This was disclosed on the army’s 82 Division official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The statement said the distress call was received around 6:55 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026, reporting a suspected attack by IPOB/ESN on travelers heading to Anambra State.
It said troops swiftly mobilized to the location and effectively engaged the armed assailants with superior firepower and tactical maneuvers.
The rapid and well-coordinated response, the army added, forced the criminals to abandon their captives and flee.
As a result, five kidnapped individuals were rescued unharmed, and their vehicle was recovered intact.
