Aina Adesola has formally assumed duty as the 23rd Commissioner of Police of the Delta State Police Command.
Addressing journalists at the state police headquarters in Asaba, Adesola expressed gratitude to Almighty God and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for entrusting him with the high-profile assignment.
“This posting is both an honour and a call to service,” he said, pledging total commitment to the safety of Delta residents.
Delta holds a special place in the new Commissioner’s career. It was here that he began his journey in the Nigeria Police Force after passing out of the police academy, and later served as deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations.
“Returning as commissioner is both a professional responsibility and a personal commitment,” he stated.
Adesola paid tribute to his predecessor, noting that the foundations laid by him would guide future operations.
The police commissioner outlined a clear mandate to strengthen security, curb crime, and ensure Delta remains safe for residents and economic activities.

He urged the public to support policing efforts by providing credible information and called on the media to continue its critical role in shaping public understanding and trust.
The commissioner concluded with a commitment to service, fairness, and accountability, urging all stakeholders to join him in making Delta State safer and more secure.
