The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
This information was shared in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja by the acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO, Mr. Azeez Sani.
Sani reported that a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects and took place from May 12 to May 23.
“The results were released following the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE award committee meeting held at the council’s headquarters in Minna,” he stated.

During the meeting, the Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and Chairperson of the committee, Folake Olatunji-David, expressed satisfaction with the processes that led to the successful release of the results.
The meeting was also attended by several secondary school principals from across the country, along with the NECO management.
Sani added that the award committee approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit examination.
The re-sit examination is scheduled to take place on July 23 and 24 for mathematics and English Studies.
