Lecturers in the Bayelsa State owned Niger Delta Universities, Ammassoma have joined in the nationwide strike action called by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
A drive by our correspondent through some parts of the Institutions showed total compliance with deserted lecture halls and few students seen around the campus.
A visit to the Faculty of Law showed that students have stayed away from lecture theatre due to the ongoing strike.

Attempts to speak with some lecturers failed as they claimed it is against the agreed procedure in the leadership of ASUU,” we have agreed that it is only the National President of ASUU that is mandated to grant press interviews.”
“But as you can see, we are fully complying with the call for strike action.”
