A socio-political group in Delta State, Ndokwa Forward for Tinubu/Sheriff and Onyeme, has appealed to indigenes of the Ndokwa Nation to desist from making derogatory remarks about the state’s Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, and instead engage in constructive dialogue to support his development efforts.

In a statement signed by its leader, Sam Osasa, the group expressed concern over what it described as the “relentless personal attacks” against the deputy governor by some individuals, warning that such actions undermine both his office and the image of the Ndokwa people.

Osasa noted that Sir Onyeme had long demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the Ndokwa Nation, citing his philanthropic initiatives through the Odoziani Organisation, which provided empowerment programmes, loans, and other support to the people.

He highlighted Onyeme’s interventions since becoming deputy governor, including efforts to address the region’s electricity challenges, his role in resolving the IPP step-down issue, facilitating the reconnection of communities to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), and attracting several major projects to the area.

Osasa said the projects include the ₦29 billion Aboh/Akarai Road in Ndokwa East Local Government Area, the upgrade of the Ndokwa West General Hospital to a specialist hospital, and scholarship awards for indigent students.

“In all considerations, we must promote our dear deputy governor in order to put him in a position of strength that will increase his capacity to negotiate and attract more dividends of democracy for our people,” Osasa said.

The group called on all Ndokwa sons and daughters to uphold the community’s values of respect for elders and leaders.
Osasa urged critics to replace condemnation with constructive suggestions, stressing that unity and mutual respect would enable the deputy governor to focus on delivering more developmental gains to the people.
