Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted consignments of illicit drugs, including ketamine, ecstasy and tramadol pills, concealed in sachets of coffee mix and book parcels bound for Zambia and the United Kingdom.
The seizures were made at a courier company in Lagos on December 24 and 29, 2025, according to Femi Babafemi, Director, Media and Advocacy in a statement on Sunday.
The agency also disclosed that it had taken into custody 22 Indian crew members of a merchant vessel, MV Aruna Hulya, following the discovery of 31.5 kilograms of cocaine at the GDNL Terminal, Apapa Port, Lagos.
Babafemi said the cocaine was recovered from hatch three of the vessel, which originated from the Marshall Islands.
Those arrested include the Master of the vessel, Sharma Shashi Bhushan, and 21 other crew members.
The suspects are Bharati Manoj Kumar, Bhalerao Nilesh Mukund, Nadar Anthony Macson David, Kolusu Srinivasa Rao, Sagar Gaurav, Francis Anto Beemas Nester, Jagdeep Singh, Jai Parkash, Prabhukhan Singh, and Nevage Sandesh Suresh.
Others include Pandey Prashant, Nittu Anand, Akash Babu, Dasari Raju, Reddy Nandika Sanjeeba, Rana Nivesh, Melethil Insaf Rahman, Barla Chantanya Krishna, Ghosh Arijit, Mondal Raihan and Gangwar Shiv Om.
In a related development, NDLEA operatives in Oyo State on December 29, arrested a wanted female drug kingpin in Ibadan.
The suspect, 65-year-old Fatima Ilori, popularly known as Mama Kerosine, was described as a major distributor of illicit drugs in the state capital.
She was arrested during an intelligence-led operation after 238.4 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis, was linked to her.
Another female suspect, Olusanya Abosede, was also arrested at the Onireke/Elekuro area of Ibadan.
In Borno State, the agency said it disrupted drug supply routes to insurgents with the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of large quantities of illicit substances.
One of the suspects, Isa Mohammed, was arrested along the Maiduguri–Gamboru Ngala Road on Friday, January 2, 2026, with 9,150 ampoules of tramadol injection.

Another suspect, Musa Samaila, was arrested the same day at the Biu Market with 34,000 capsules of tramadol.
The NDLEA further said no fewer than 400 kilograms of skunk were recovered alongside a van at the Mobolaji Johnson area of Lagos on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
In Jigawa State, a suspect, Bilya Ibrahim, was arrested at a motor park in Hadejia on Tuesday, December 30, while attempting to transport 260 compressed blocks of skunk weighing 140.8 kilograms from Taraba State to Nguru in Yobe State.
In Kwara State, NDLEA officers on Tuesday, December 30, recovered 238.5 kilograms of skunk from the residence of a suspect at the Asadam area of Ilorin.
Another suspect, Abubakar Rabiu, 32, was arrested at Bode Saadu in Moro Local Government Area with 32,000 pills of tramadol and diazepam on Wednesday, December 31.
