The Kano State Command of the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 27-year-old suspect with 9kg of cannabis sativa worth over N10 million.
Spokesperson of the command, Sadiq Maigatari, in a statement noted that the suspect identified as Umar Adamu, was intercepted along the Zaria-Kano Road on August 6, 2025, while conveying the substance from Lagos to Kano.
He explained that, the suspect was arrested with 9 kilograms of cannabis sativa (Colorado) seized in 19 parcels.
“Umar has confirmed his involvement in the illegal drug trade and has been under surveillance by the command for quite some time.

“The seized substance has an estimated street value in excess of N10 million,” he highlighted.
While maintaining that the command will continue to intensify patrols and rid the state from illicit substances, the statement noted that the interception represents a significant financial blow to the illicit network, disrupting their supply and distribution chain.
