The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has initiated the registration process for unemployed youth as part of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative.
The federal government’s initiative aims to address unemployment and empower Nigerians.
During a press conference on Monday, Francis Ambianto, the NDE state coordinator in Kaduna, announced that at least 21,782 young people would benefit from this initiative.
He mentioned that registration started on Monday and will continue until August 11, 2025.
The program is open to all unemployed individuals, regardless of their educational qualifications.
“Skill acquisition has no barriers. Whether you are a graduate, a school dropout, or have never attended school, you are eligible,” Mr. Francis stated.
He encouraged interested youths aged 18 to 40 to register online at www.nderegistrationportal.ng or www.nde.gov.ng.
Mr. Ambianto explained that selected participants would receive training in various programs, including rural employment promotion, which focuses on agricultural skills such as poultry, fishery, irrigation, and animal fattening.
Other programs include vocational skills development, which covers skills like fashion design and catering; special public works, and small scale enterprise.
He noted that participants in these programs would undergo three months of training and receive a monthly transportation allowance of N10,000, with 70 percent of them eligible for soft loans after completing the training.

Additionally, NDE will offer two more schemes for graduates: a graduate coaching program designed to train graduates to mentor secondary school students preparing for their senior secondary school exams, and a graduate attachment program that places graduates in relevant organizations for temporary work experience.
Mr. Ambianto stated that all participants in the graduate program would receive a monthly stipend of N50,000 for three months.
He indicated that over 600 youths in Kaduna State would benefit from this initiative and urged them to seize this opportunity and apply.
He explained that beneficiary names would be selected from a central portal managed at the NDE headquarters in Abuja, with the selection process strictly based on merit.
“The first phase was highly successful, with participants admitted without any personal connections in the system.
“We are confident that this second phase will be even more transparent and inclusive,” he added.
