The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in collaboration with Chevron Nigeria Limited is to construct the 70.75 km Omadino-Okerenkoko-Escravos Road in Delta State.
A post on the official X handle of NDDC which disclosed this, added that “this road is essential for connecting Warri to Escravos, a vital area for oil and gas activities.”
NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, emphasised the project’s importance in enhancing oil production and boosting economic activities in the region.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to stakeholders engagement and the implementation of the public-private partnership initiative to accelerate the construction of the road project.
Ogbuku also referenced the successful collaboration between the NDDC and Shell Petroleum on the Ogbia-Nembe Road project, considering it a model for future partnerships.
He mentioned the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) to collaborate on sustainable development projects, reflecting a strategic approach to secure funding and support for both ongoing and new initiatives.
