The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) have announced the names of fourteen of Nigeria best U-19 female cricketers for the Women’s U-19 World Cup Africa Qualifier scheduled from September 1-13, 2022, in Botswana.

In an official report by the NCF Public Relations Officer, Musa Ehizoje Bodie, the players mostly from the offshoot of the U17 National Championship, include others with senior national team experience.

Mr Musa added that before these crop of players were selected, they underwent a rigorous preparatory process that spanned a one-month time frame in various camps across the country.

He underlined that the squad which includes Miracle Imimole, one of the duo that attended the 1 month Under-16 High-Performance Academy India, in 2019, will captain the team while Rukayat Abdulrasak, who made her senior debut at the Kwibuka Women Tournament in June this year, serves as her assistant.

Other familiar names include Lucky Piety, Oseyande Omonkhobhio and Lillian Ude to mention a few.
