Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) is probing one of its branch secretaries over allegations of sexual harassment.
President of the association, Mr Olumide Akpata, disclosed this at the Annual General Conference of the NBA in Lagos.
Attorney-General of Ekiti State, Mr Wale Fapohunda, heads the NBA Sexual Harassment Policy Implementation Committee. He officially presented the revised Sexual Harassment Policy of the NBA and the Guidelines for its implementation to Akpata at the Conference.
The Sexual Harassment Policy Implementation Committee was set up in October of 2021. It followed the launch of the “Sexual Harassment Policy” drafted by the NBA Women’s Forum.
Receiving the policy, Akpata noted that the NBA will not pay lip service to the issues of sexual harassment within the association or by its members.
