The national grid on Wednesday collapsed for the 12th time in 2024.
The grid collapsed around 2.09 pm, plunging Nigerians into total darkness.
A tweet from the official handle of Nigeria’s National Grid, said: “A major grid setback has occurred and the restoration is to commence.”
The development was also confirmed in a statement by the Jos DisCo to its customers, noting that the grid collapsed around 1: 33pm today, leading to the loss of power supply to its feeders.

“We hope to restore normal power supply to our esteemed customers as soon as the grid supply is restored back to normalcy,” the Head Corporate Communications, Jos DisCo, Friday Elijah told its customers.
The grid collapsed three times within one week in October and has collapsed at least 11 times from January 2024 till date.
