The National Assembly has postponed the resumption of plenary, pushing the date back from the earlier September 23 date to October 7, 2025.
The change in resumption date affects both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Originally, lawmakers were scheduled to resume plenary after their annual break, but no specific reason has been given for the postponement.
Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Goodswill Akpabio, Chinedu Akubueze, who announced the change in the resumption date, expressed regret for any inconvenience the postponement might have caused.
He encouraged National Assembly members to adjust their plans accordingly.
The statement read in part: “This is to respectfully inform distinguished senators that the resumption of plenary sitting of the Senate, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 23rd September, 2025, has been shifted to Tuesday, 7th October, 2025.
