The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) is set to embark on an Executive Study Tour to Finland from November 3 to 8, 2025, in collaboration with Nordic Bridge Partner and leading Finnish institutions. The five-day programme, themed “Finnish Excellence in Vocational Energy Training and Innovation,” aims to deepen NAPTIN’s leadership capacity and enhance Nigeria’s collaboration with Finland in vocational education and clean energy development.

According to Francis Otuoba, Co-CEO and Future Architect of Nordic Bridge Partner AB, the initiative marks a new chapter in cross-continental cooperation. “By bringing together Finnish innovation and Nigerian expertise, we are not only sharing knowledge, we are shaping a new model of collaboration that drives sustainable energy growth across continents,” he said.

The tour will take participants through Finland’s two key innovation hubs, Helsinki and Vaasa renowned for their world-class approaches to education and energy technology. In the Helsinki region, NAPTIN’s management will engage with Omnia Education Partners in Espoo to experience Finland’s unique model of work-based learning tailored to the energy and technical sectors. They will also visit technology companies such as TerraSolid and InfraKit to study how data technologies and digital platforms are transforming infrastructure planning, efficiency, and sustainability.

In Vaasa, known as Finland’s energy capital, the delegation will collaborate with the Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK), Merinova Technology Center, Vaasa Region Energy Company (VASEK), and Danfoss Plc. These engagements will provide NAPTIN officials with practical insights into how academic institutions and industries cooperate to develop clean energy solutions and strengthen technical workforce training.

The study tour will conclude at Aalto University, one of Finland’s leading research institutions, where discussions will focus on innovation-driven energy systems and the integration of sustainable technologies. The NAPTIN team will also meet with Teraloop, a Finnish pioneer in kinetic energy storage, to explore emerging frontiers in renewable energy development.

The collaboration between NAPTIN and Nordic Bridge Partner highlights a growing commitment to fostering knowledge exchange, sustainable energy innovation, and institutional capacity building across borders.
