The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has recorded a major operational success after conducting two precision air interdiction missions that destroyed key bandit enclaves in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The airstrikes, carried out on Sunday at Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s camp, followed credible intelligence from multiple sources, according to the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
In a statement issued on Monday, Ejodame said the operations targeted strategic hideouts linked to recent bandit attacks across the North-West.
He said the airstrikes were carried out with the aim of degrading the groups’ combat capabilities and denying them safe havens.
Ejodame said the first strike at Turba Hill, identified as a fortified bandit enclave, destroyed a zinc-roofed structure central to the group’s operations.
“Post-strike assessment confirmed the complete destruction of the target and the neutralisation of several bandits,” he said.
The second mission targeted Kachalla Dogo Sule’s camp, described as a notorious operational base and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) manufacturing hub associated with attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis.

According to Ejodame, multiple structures within the camp were engaged, resulting in intense fires that destroyed the facilities and neutralised dozens of bandits, effectively crippling the group’s IED production and deployment capacity.
He said the coordinated strikes delivered a significant blow to bandit networks operating in Zamfara State, particularly their ability to sustain violent attacks using explosive devices.
Ejodame added that the operations underscored the NAF’s commitment, in collaboration with other components of ‘Operation FANSAN YAMMA’, to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and support ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the North-West and across the country.
