Over a span of three days, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) executed a barrage of missile attacks aimed at militants responsible for recent incidents in Niger state.
On Friday, Ehimen Ejodame, who serves as the director of public relations for the force, announced that these operations took place from June 24 to 26.
He indicated that these missile strikes were based on reliable intelligence, with the NAF pinpointing terrorist actions linked to assaults and livestock theft in the communities of Kakihun and Kumbashi.
“The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, carried out a sequence of precise air attacks from June 24 to 26, 2025, in support of ground forces, targeting those responsible for the recent violence in Niger State,” stated the press release.

“On June 26, leveraging dependable intelligence and collaborating with other military and agency units, the NAF recognized terrorist operations associated with assaults and cattle theft in the Kakihun and Kumbashi regions.
“Quickly mobilizing air resources, the Air Component carried out several coordinated strikes that eliminated many terrorists, wrecked their supply lines, and hampered their regrouping efforts.
“This operation displayed the NAF’s skillfulness, prompt response ability, and effective collaboration with ground troops and various agencies.”
Ejodame affirmed that the NAF is dedicated to safeguarding the safety and assets of all Nigerians while working towards lasting peace throughout the nation.
