Some N-Power beneficiaries in Adamawa State have alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS) may have summoned their state chairman following the group’s reported threat to withdraw support from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over unpaid stipends.

The claims come after the beneficiaries reportedly issued a 10-day ultimatum to the APC, warning that continued delays in stipend payments could force them to reconsider their political backing. According to a statement attributed to the Office of the National Publicity Secretary of the group, the DSS’s attention was drawn by the press release, which the agency allegedly interpreted as potential influence by opposition politicians.

“The Department of State Services (DSS), upon reviewing our press release threatening to withdraw support for the APC within the next 10 days if our stipends are not paid, seems to think we are being influenced by opposition politicians,” the statement read, emphasizing that the group’s stance is independent and rooted in the frustrations of over 1.5 million affected beneficiaries.

While the report has stirred debate online and among political observers, it has not been independently verified. Neither the DSS nor the APC has issued official statements addressing the allegations, leaving questions over the matter unresolved as stakeholders await further clarification.
