The leadership of the Muslim youth in Takum local government council of Taraba state, has reaffirmed the community’s dedication to unity and development of the council and the state at large.
Reacting to concerns raised by the Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN) regarding the recent proposal to demolish the central mosque in the council, the group in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday in Jalingo, the state capital, pledged the community’s support for the directives and emphasized their collective agreement on matters related to the local government’s initiatives.
Led by its leader, Yahaya Mohammed, they clarified that the decision was made in consultation with the Taraba State government, led by governor Agbu Kefas.
In response to the KYN’s criticism of the proposed mosque demolition, they
stressed that the governor’s administration has consistently worked for the unity and progress of all communities within the state, including the Muslim population in Takum.
“It is crucial to clarify that any demolition undertaken is aimed at promoting the development and welfare of our Muslim brothers and sisters in Takum and beyond. This initiative has been positively received by our community.” He stated

Mohammed explained that the demolition was part of a broader development plan intended to benefit the Muslim community.
Urging the KYN not to politicize the issue, he warned that it could distract the government from the progress being made.
“We urge the KYN not to exploit this situation for their own agendas, as it could distract our Muslim community in Takum.”
He called on the Muslim community in Takum and beyond to ignore rumors and remain confident in the government’s support.
Mohammed also called on all the people of the State to continue their support and prayers for the state governor, emphasizing the governor’s tireless efforts to create a better future for all residents.
He reiterated the Muslim community’s commitment to working together for the collective progress of Takum and the state.
