Social critic and advisor to the Delta State governor, Mr. Jollof, has addressed the recent altercation he had with Very Dark Man (VDM) on a flight at Asaba International Airport on Monday, November 17.
In a video statement, Mr. Jollof expressed his apologies to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Delta State governor, his wife and children, fellow passengers, and the broader Nigerian public for engaging in a public fight.
He explained that he was merely defending himself after VDM approached him to “harass” him, claiming that he delivered “3000 mg” of blows during the confrontation.
To his wife, he said: “I know you are proud of me. Those 3000 mg were delivered, not through sheer strength.
“To my children, I promise I won’t do this again. And to my boss, I sincerely apologize; this isn’t who I am. I was just trying to protect myself.”
Describing the incident, Mr. Jollof recounted that while he was seated on the plane, VDM began making provocative remarks after some passengers were praising him.

VDM allegedly threatened that “when we get off this plane, I’ll slap you. May God punish your father. I could get up right now and slap you.”
In response, Jollof told VDM to “behave yourself.” He noted that VDM then walked over to confront him directly, prompting Jollof to defend himself, which escalated into a fight on the aircraft.
Regarding why he bit VDM, Jollof remarked, “Mike Tyson, the fighter, used what God gave him. When you bring a knife to a gunfight, you take whatever you can use.”
