…As terrorists demand 100m ransom
The Nigerian Army is making efforts to rescue Engr Ramatu Abarshi and her daughter who were abducted by terrorists popularly known as bandits in Kaduna state The Trumpet gathered.
The victims were said to be kidnapped alongside a commercial driver who was conveying them to Kaduna after a humanitarian service at Mariri community in Lere Local Government Area of the State.
A top military source told The Trumpet that the terrorists are demanding N100 million ransom from the family of the victims, a move that prompted the military to launch a manhunt on them.
It was gathered that Engr Abarshi and her daughter who were travelling in a chartered vehicle were said to have been kidnapped near Kasuwan Magani.

Sources from Mariri told our correspondent that as part of her Barkindo-Rahama Initiative, the Engineer who often distributes household items to the less privileged had arrived at Mariri around 3 pm on Friday, where she distributed cloth and other basic items to orphans ahead of the Eid-el- Fitr celebration.
“She exchanged pleasantries with dozens of people in Mariri and posed for pictures with many people before they left in the evening,” the source said.
However, somewhere between ‘Crossing and Kasuwan Magani,’ their vehicle was said to have been attacked by the terrorists who abducted all three including the driver.
A family friend told our correspondent that the bandits have made contact and demanded N100million for the release of Engr Abarshi and her daughter.
