Morocco delivered a stunning display of dominance on Monday evening, thrashing Lesotho 7-0 at the Honneur Stadium to wrap up their 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign in spectacular fashion. The Atlas Lions secured a flawless record in Group B, finishing with 18 points from six consecutive victories, cementing their status as a powerhouse in African football.

The match was a one-sided affair from the outset, with Morocco controlling possession and dictating the tempo. Real Madrid’s rising star Brahim Diaz wasted no time in setting the tone, scoring in just the fifth minute after a perfect setup by Azzedine Ounahi. Diaz struck again in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by Lesotho’s Tsepang Sefoli, and completed his hat trick with a clinical finish in the 42nd minute.

Soufiane Rahimi added to Lesotho’s woes, scoring a penalty in the 37th minute and securing a comfortable 4-0 lead for Morocco before halftime. The Atlas Lions returned to the pitch with the same ferocity, showing no mercy as they extended their lead in the second half.

Youssef En-Nesyri found the back of the net in the 68th minute, followed closely by Ismail Saibari, who scored in the 70th minute to make it six. With relentless energy and precise execution, Morocco sealed their dominant performance with a clean sheet, an improvement from their previous match against Gabon, where they conceded a goal.

The victory was a statement of intent from Morocco, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive discipline ahead of the AFCON tournament. The Atlas Lions have proven themselves as strong contenders for the title, with their perfect record and a squad brimming with talent.

As the team looks ahead to the 2025 AFCON, this emphatic win sends a clear message to their rivals: Morocco is here to dominate, and they are ready to take on the best in Africa.
