Rapper Cardi B and her boyfriend, NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs, are at the center of a legal storm after a model accused Diggs of fathering her 5-month-old daughter. The explosive claim comes as Cardi B is expecting her first child with Diggs, raising questions and fueling social media buzz.

Court documents obtained by People reveal that model Aileen Lopera, who goes by Lord Gisselle online, first filed the paternity case against Diggs in December 2024 while pregnant. She alleged the New England Patriots star was the father of her unborn child and requested sole custody, with Diggs allowed visitation.

The baby girl, named Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, was born in April 2025. Lopera’s legal team has now doubled down, insisting Diggs recognize and support the child. Her attorney said, “My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and supports his infant daughter in Los Angeles.”

Diggs, 31, has strongly denied the allegations. In his legal response, he requested genetic testing to confirm paternity and stated that if proven to be the father, he would seek joint custody and share expenses tied to the pregnancy, birth, and legal proceedings. Diggs already has an 8-year-old daughter, Nova, from a previous relationship.

The lawsuit has cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a celebratory moment for Diggs and Cardi B, who are preparing to welcome their first child together. This will be Cardi’s fourth child, as she already shares Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 12 months, with her estranged husband Offset.

The Bronx-born superstar is also juggling her pregnancy with career milestones, including the upcoming release of her second album, Am I the Drama?, set to drop on September 19, and her highly anticipated Little Miss Drama tour. Speaking with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Cardi admitted, “I’ve been putting in all this work, but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”

Diggs has publicly shown support for Cardi during this hectic period, commenting on her Instagram that he is “100 percent team boy” and praising her for “staying focused.”

The timing of the lawsuit has set social media ablaze, with fans speculating about the couple’s future as Cardi and Diggs prepare to welcome their child. The drama surrounding Diggs’ alleged paternity scandal and Cardi’s upcoming album release has made this one of the most talked-about celebrity stories of the season.
