Popular Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has sparked widespread reactions online after openly admitting to engaging in traditional spiritual practices, commonly referred to as ‘juju’ to aid his success.
The singer made the revelation while performing at the birthday celebration of veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Odua on March 30, 2026.
In a now-viral video, Osupa was seen correcting his backup singers during a performance, urging them, jokingly to explore spiritual means to improve their memory and stage delivery.
He noted that such practices, in his view, are not harmful but are intended to support personal growth.
Speaking further, the Fuji star disclosed that he once rejected advice to publicly deny involvement in such practices, insisting on being open about his beliefs.
According to him, his actions are not driven by evil intent but by a desire for progress and a better life.

Osupa went on to question alternative paths to success in a humorous tone, stating that it is not ideal to remain poor without striving for comfort and improvement.
He also claimed that many individuals engage in similar practices privately, while he chooses to be transparent about his.
The comments have since generated mixed reactions across social media.
Some users praised the singer for his honesty, arguing that many public figures engage in similar practices behind closed doors.
Others, however, criticized the statement, saying such beliefs should remain private and not be promoted publicly.
A user, @KayAdekunle, described the situation as “hypocrisy,” alleging that many religious figures also engage in questionable practices behind the scenes.
Another user, @ManNelo50, commended Osupa’s openness, stating that honesty is preferable to what he described as public deception by others.
However, @Goldenson911 argued that while such practices may exist, publicly admitting them was unnecessary.
On the other hand, @lead_herb supported the development, calling for equal freedom of expression for traditional believers, similar to adherents of other religions.
