The Minister of Agriculture, Abubakar Kyari and the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Ahmadu, have restated their commitment to fostering regional growth and development through collaboration in aligning with national objectives.
The two ministers made this known when the regional development minister visited his agriculture counterpart in Abuja.
Kyari in a port on his X handle on Thursday, said discussions during the visit centred on strategic initiatives aimed at sustainable agricultural transformation, including the metal to green house project, the establishment of farm training centers, and the implementation of youth empowerment through vocational, and apprenticeship programmes.

He added that special emphasis was placed on climate-smart agriculture, with a targeted focus on empowering women, marginalized groups, and community-based hubs.
“In reaffirming the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security’s commitment to this partnership, I emphasized the urgency of operationalizing the metal to green house project.
“To this end, I have appointed a supervisor to oversee immediate steps, including the formation of a technical team and the identification of pilot sites for implementation.
“Additionally, I have asked the permanent secretaries of both ministries to maintain close coordination to ensure continued dialogue, periodic progress reviews, and the smooth implementation of these initiatives.
“Together, we aim to drive impactful change that supports sustainable agricultural development and national food security,” the minister said.
