The Nigerian Armed Forces have unveiled the highly anticipated Tattoo 2025 Logo during an elaborate ceremony in Abuja, chaired by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa. The new emblem symbolizes the military’s core values of perseverance, valor, and solidarity, offering a bold representation of their mission to protect and serve the nation.
Gen. Musa described the logo as a “cathartic tribute” to the Nigerian Armed Forces’ historic heritage and their steadfast commitment to national security. He highlighted its purpose as a unifying symbol, not just for military personnel but also for the wider Nigerian populace, reflecting shared principles of loyalty, sacrifice, and national pride.
“This tattoo is more than a ceremonial parade; it is a testament to our discipline, understanding of command, obedience, loyalty, and sacrifice,” Gen. Musa said. He further emphasized that the Tattoo 2025 event would bring together armed forces from around the world to showcase their cultures, parades, and operational excellence, fostering camaraderie and professionalism among military personnel.

In a striking comparison, Gen. Musa underlined the defining traits of a professional armed force, contrasting them with non-state actors. “This is what separates a professional armed force from non-state actors—they lack the discipline, culture, and heritage that we celebrate today,” he remarked.
The Tattoo 2025 Logo, according to Gen. Musa, represents both a homage to the sacrifices of the past and a vision for a secure future. It serves as a rallying point for the military, inspiring pride and unity across the nation. Each element of the design reflects the armed forces’ unwavering dedication to peace, security, and independence.
Rear Admiral M. Mohammed, Chairman of the Planning and Organizing Committee, echoed these sentiments, praising the military as a symbol of strength, courage, and unity. He highlighted that Tattoo 2025 aims to celebrate the operational excellence and vibrant culture of Nigeria’s armed forces, positioning the logo as a powerful emblem of resilience and capability.
“This logo and the tattoo event stand as a testament to the resilience and capabilities of our military. It will undoubtedly become a source of national pride,” Mohammed added.
