Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has cautioned Victor Osimhen over his behaviour during Nigeria’s match at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mikel spoke on his podcast while reacting to the on field confrontation between Osimhen and Ademola Lookman during Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Mozambique.
The incident happened after Osimhen became angry with Lookman for not passing the ball.
He was also seen gesturing to the bench and asking to be substituted.

Mikel said he was unhappy with Osimhen’s reaction during and after the game.
“The part where he stopped playing, running and making efforts, I did not like that,” Mikel said.
He also criticised Osimhen for walking straight into the dressing room after the match.
According to the former Chelsea midfielder, no player is bigger than the national team.
“Football is always about the team. No individual is bigger than the Super Eagles, and Victor knows that,” Mikel added.
