Tech giant Microsoft has announced a massive $1 million (₦1.6 billion) investment in Nigeria’s digital economy, aiming to equip one million Nigerians with Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills over the next two years.
The announcement was made in Lagos by Ola Williams, Microsoft’s Country Manager for Nigeria and Ghana, during the launch of the Microsoft AI Tour.
Williams emphasised that the initiative is a strategic move to empower Nigerians with critical AI skills, enabling them to use AI and develop cutting-edge solutions and build AI-driven businesses that create sustainable livelihoods.
“This investment will position Nigeria as a key player in the global AI ecosystem by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth,” Williams stated.
