President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator John Mbata, has taken on the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing him as semi-illiterate.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader was apparently reacting to the minister’s verbal attacks against him where the minister described the former senator as a local politician without any success despite his eight-year tenure in the Senate

Following Wike’s persistent attack against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the Ohanaeze leader had chided the minister, reminding him that there is only one governor in Rivers State.

Mbata made the remarks during the 2025 Eneka Day Celebration in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday which was attended by Gov. Fubara.

In a fresh viral video, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo president-general launched another verbal attack on the FCT minister over the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.

In the video, Mbata criticised Wike’s conduct, and language, accusing him of lacking basic decorum and education, questioning his public utterances and approach to governance.

He said, “One of the signs of very poor education and upbringing is that you can’t even pronounce simple words. What’s the meaning of ‘integrate, integrate, integrate’?” referring to Wike’s poor pronunciation of the word, ‘integrity’.

He went further, describing Wike as a political bully who believes silence from others amounts to fear.

He continued, “Can somebody tell this semi-illiterate, swashbuckling, crisis-loving gentleman that Rivers State belongs to all of us, not him alone?

“And we will resist you. You won’t get away with all this nonsense you’re doing. You think because nobody is talking, you can do anything? You are a very big fool. An idiot.

“You have forgotten the days you used to wash my car, and I used to feed you and pay your school fees. You think you can just talk to me anyhow, you are just an idiot!”
