- Juventus make €50m bid for Bremer
Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has joined Bayern Munich on a five-year contract after he passed his medical and agree to personal terms.
De Ligt completing the €67m switch to Allianz Arena brings an end to his three years spell in Turin for Bianconeri.
While the Dutchman, who was on the radar of top European clubs will begin a new adventure with Bavarians until 2027, Juventus have used part of the fund from his deal to place a €50m bid for Torino’s Gleison Bremer.
According to an Italian report, Juventus’ bid for Bremer has surpassed Inter Milan’s €35m bid and is due to snap the defender from the Nerazzurri who spotted him as a replacement for the highly sought Milan Skriniar.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich was able to sign the 22-year-old defender, who joined Juventus from Ajax in 2019 for about €85.50m, from the proceeds of Robert Lewandowski’s sale to Barcelona.

The club CEO, Oliver Khan commended the signing of De Ligt saying it followed the same process like Sadio Mane’s.
Khan, who spoke from the United States at Bayern’s US Tour, pointed out that the Netherland international gave little consideration like Mane to pledge allegiance to Bavarian.
“It was very simple,” Oliver Kahn said after Bayern Munich signed De Ligt.
“It was very similar to how it was with Sadio Mané; he thought about it for one or two days; it was the same for Matthijs de Ligt.
“He was quickly convinced that he wanted to join Bayern Munich, and we don’t need to debate about his quality.
“He is very tall, strong in one-v-one situations, has the ability to build from the back, and even though he is only 22 is a leader on the pitch. Someone who has a huge presence,” Bayern CEO added.
Following the successful switch to Allianz Arena, the Dutchman who debuted for the Netherland national team in 2017 and has been capped 38 times, adjudged Bayern Munich as the most successful German club in history.
“I’m very happy to become a player for this great club. FC Bayern are the most successful club in Germany, one of the most successful clubs in Europe and in the world,” De Ligt said.
“I felt the genuine appreciation from the sporting management, the coach and the board right from the start, which convinced me. On top of that, FC Bayern is a brilliantly run club with big aims. I’m very glad that I’m now becoming part of the FC Bayern story,” he added.
The Trumpet reports that De Ligt’s switch of allegiance to the Bavarians makes him the second most expensive player in Allianz Arena after Lucas Hernández who was signed from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for €80m.
