A political storm is brewing as Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South in the National Assembly, has revealed that several governors from the opposition, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are preparing to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking in an exclusive interview on *Channels Television*, Ibrahim disclosed that a wave of defections has already begun, with more high-profile politicians expected to switch allegiance in the coming weeks.
Responding to concerns about internal criticism within the APC and President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the senator dismissed the notion that the ruling party is losing ground. Instead, he highlighted the increasing number of politicians abandoning the PDP to join the APC.

“That is a one-sided argument,” Ibrahim stated. “What about those from the PDP that are joining us? You’re not talking about them. How about Wike? He still claims to be in the PDP, but he’s serving in an APC government. Many others like him have already joined, and more are on the way.”
Hinting at a major political shake-up, the senator revealed that several governors are secretly planning to defect to the APC but stopped short of naming them.
“I don’t want to mention names so I don’t embarrass people, but I can assure you that the next time I return to this program, you will see a governor who has crossed over to the APC,” he said confidently.
